We had our first concert on September 12th!!! Here is a summary of the evening:
First of all we want to say thank you to the bands who all gave a great performance on stage! Some of them came from very far, to play for us and to help us to break the silence (which they sure did). We just can’t thank you enough as we couldn’t do this without you!
- Mendella, a group of 5 young rockers from the UK managed to surprise the Belgian crowd in a positive way. These boys traveled to Belgium on their own expense, just to support our cause, and after a sleepless night, they started the evening with such an energy and a great sound that they set the tone for the rest of the evening. We all agreed that Mendella will become big and we’re looking forward to hear more of them!
- Next in the line were our Northern neighbours, the Dutch band Morning. With catchy metal sounds and the great voice of female singer Saskia they took over the stage and filled the room with an energy as high as their own. Already performed with big names in the female fronted metal scene, like Epica, we’re sure that soon they will go higher, further and faster!
- Everglow, our other Female fronted band, who’s is very supportive to our cause and promotes RACA everywhere they go, delivered a powerful performance with heavy drums and firm guitars. The meaningful lyrics accompanied by Cindy’s melodic voice and the energy she brought it with catched everyone’s attention!
- Shared the stage with bands like Sister of Mercy, HIM and lot’s of others and played on many of the biggest festivals in Europe, Star Industry has a strong reputation as Belgian’s best gothic rock export to date. And they sure messured up to that reputation! With a sound that is catchy, dark, powerful and electronic at the same time, and the energetic way they performed it with made us proud to have them on stage!
- Ending an evening with outstanding music and a great energetic performances... with their famous green ties Doncker gave the audience a burst of energy that unabled anyone to stand still! These guys are with RACA from the very beginning, helped us to make our first steps in the world of organizing concerts and are promoting RACA everywhere they go and every site their on. These 5 driven musicians created a whole new sound that you just have to listen to as trying to describe it wouldn’t do it the honor it deserves.
Also a special thanks to Sven De Preter from “Foute Foto” for taking the photos that evening, to my team and all of the volunteers who did their best to make this evening a succes, to the Nijdrop for allowing us to give our concert in this great venue and to Saïd Al-Haddad, who as a Mental DJ from FM Brussels made sure the audience could listen to some great music between the bands, to Team Netherlands for being there and for their help, to Global Food Funatics for the catering and to Tazticmedia, our sponsor who provided us with posters, flyers, banners and merchandise!
We also want to thank all the people who came to support us, who came to make a difference for the children of today and tomorrow and who were there to support the bands.
We hope that next time you will all be there again with us, and that many more will follow your example!
